AAPA Celebrates 10 Years
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE AUSTRALIAN AIRLINE PILOT ACADEMY (AAPA) WHO CELEBRATED THEIR 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY THIS MONTH
Country Hope would like to congratulate the Australian Airline Pilot Academy (AAPA) on their ten year anniversary.
AAPA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Regional Express (Rex) based in Wagga Wagga NSW, and commemorated their 10 year anniversary on Monday 11th December 2017 with a special ceremony, to coincide with the graduation of the 21st cohort of Rex Cadet Pilots. The Ceremony was officiated by Guest of Honour, the Hon. Peter Dutton MP, Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, and attended by other distinguished guests from the local and aviation community (source AAPA website).
Rex commenced the unique Rex Pilot Cadet Programme in December 2007 in an endeavour to combat a world-wide pilot shortage. After initially commencing operations in Mangalore, Victoria, Rex constructed a state of the art pilot training academy located at Wagga Wagga. AAPA’s new facility was officially opened in May 2010.
The 2017 Country Hope’s carers’ training weekend was held in the AAPA Academy building this year and their excellent facilities and staff were appreciated by all who attended.
